This position works with the sales group and targeted customers to produce functional proto-type components and components for clinical trials. As the programs advance, the position is responsible for developing process techniques and material handling solutions to produce the specified components for medium and high volume production.
The Program Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing processes and equipment are completely developed, implemented, and validated throughout the development cycle. The Program Development Manager will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities and personnel to ensure that process and product knowledge are transferred successfully from program development to the production manufacturing team.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: -Manage a program development team and related work environment -Recruit and develop team personnel to efficiently achieve program development goals on time -Identify and lead development of new manufacturing processes and material handling solutions
-Specify laser and manufacturing solutions that meet the customer's specifications
-Provide leadership in management and strategic discussions relating to LasX's Precision Converting Group business plan
-Support sales staff in development, demonstration, and documentation of processes for targeted accounts
-Understand and apply engineering tools such as: design of experiments (DOE) and statistical techniques to develop processes
-Support the LasX Quality Management System Secondary

Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Micro-fluidics Engineering or related field
-Ability to lead and manage a team
-Self-driven and motivated
-Strong verbal and technical writing skills
-Work well in both a team environment and as an individual
Preferred Qualifications:
-5 to 10 years experience in process development
-Experience with micro-fluidic devices -Experience in an ISO 13485 environment
-Experience with AutoCADT
Physical Requirements:
-Standing and walking on concrete floors in a manufacturing environment
-Extensive use of telephone and computer in an office environment
-Some customer and trade show travel required. Limited overnight travel.
